Life's Adventures!

Over the past few weeks we've had some great times together as a family and with friends.
I've selected highlights from the events we've attended to share with you. Enjoy:)

In early March,  Evan and I had a unique opportunity to help babysit children for a family whose mother and father were celebrating their 10th anniversary with a family photo shoot at the chuch where they got married. The mother and father dawned their wedding apparel and the children were dressed to match. We enjoyed helping the children get into position for photos, and spending time keeping them occupied while their mother and father were busy.

I almost felt related to the youngest girl, she looked so much like me:)

We also enjoyed going skiing for the last time this season with some friends.
It was a beautiful day, and the snow was simply wonderful:)

In early April, Evan and I participated in a benefit concert for some missionaries.
We had enjoyed practicing together for several months, and we were so grateful for God's blessing on our performance. Even when our music kept folding up as we were playing our last duet, God was faithful to give us the strength to continue and finish well. I just love playing piano duets with Evan, and I look forward to more performances in the future.

The day after the concert, we went to the wedding of a friend of mine. It was a beautiful wedding, and we so enjoyed being able to spend time with friends as well.

Since the wedding was already several hours away in Washington, we decided to spend the night, and attend Pastor Houston's chuch on the morning.  I was SO excited to be able to hear Pastor Houston preach in person, since he is one of my favorite preachers, and I listen to him all the time on Sermon Audio:)

A couple weeks ago, we enjoyed going as a family to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival in Woodburn, Oregon.

It was a beautiful clear day, and the tulips were out in full bloom.

Evan enjoyed getting pictures of the flowers with his iPhone:)

He got a couple pictures of himself too:)

And of me:)

And our family:)

I was so excited for the first day that was warm enough to wear our sunglasses and sandals:)

"For lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone;.......

.......the flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land."  SOS 2:11-12

And since it was the Wooden Shoe Tulip festival, of course Evan and I had to poke our heads into the Dutch boy and girl cutouts:)

And before we left I just had to take a picture of this pink John Deere:)

We had the privilege of attending the Oregon Rght to Life conference a few weeks ago.
I was so proud of Evan's accomplishments for the second time this year, as his drawing (pictured above) won the state art competition, and was displayed throughout the conference.

It was also wonderful to hear our friend Noah Cook's speech in the oratory competition. We were so excited for him when he won second place.

Just last week, Evan and I had the amazing privilege of singing with the Vancouver Grace Chorus for their Easter concert at a retirement home. We had enjoyed practicing together for the past few months, and were very excited to perform together, and see how God used our performance to bless the listeners. Evan was also able to make a debut performance of one of his recent hymn arrangements for the final piece of our concert, and he did a wonderful job.

Overall, we've had a wonderful spirng so far, we've had some wonderful times as a family, and with friends, and I've enjoyed learning more about God as we've continued studying Romans as a family! I'd love to hear a comment from you on how God has been encouraging you recently!

I'll close this post with one of my favorite passages of Scripture. Have a wonderful week!

"This I recall to mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: Great is thy Faithfulness." Lamentations 3:21-23

Oh, and don't forget to enter the giveaway if you haven't already. It's almost done:)
