Life's Adventures!

Over the past few weeks we've had some great times together as a family and with friends.
I've selected highlights from the events we've attended to share with you. Enjoy:)

In early March,  Evan and I had a unique opportunity to help babysit children for a family whose mother and father were celebrating their 10th anniversary with a family photo shoot at the chuch where they got married. The mother and father dawned their wedding apparel and the children were dressed to match. We enjoyed helping the children get into position for photos, and spending time keeping them occupied while their mother and father were busy.

I almost felt related to the youngest girl, she looked so much like me:)

We also enjoyed going skiing for the last time this season with some friends.
It was a beautiful day, and the snow was simply wonderful:)

In early April, Evan and I participated in a benefit concert for some missionaries.
We had enjoyed practicing together for several months, and we were so grateful for God's blessing on our performance. Even when our music kept folding up as we were playing our last duet, God was faithful to give us the strength to continue and finish well. I just love playing piano duets with Evan, and I look forward to more performances in the future.

The day after the concert, we went to the wedding of a friend of mine. It was a beautiful wedding, and we so enjoyed being able to spend time with friends as well.

Since the wedding was already several hours away in Washington, we decided to spend the night, and attend Pastor Houston's chuch on the morning.  I was SO excited to be able to hear Pastor Houston preach in person, since he is one of my favorite preachers, and I listen to him all the time on Sermon Audio:)

A couple weeks ago, we enjoyed going as a family to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival in Woodburn, Oregon.

It was a beautiful clear day, and the tulips were out in full bloom.

Ò
Evan enjoyed getting pictures of the flowers with his iPhone:)

He got a couple pictures of himself too:)

And of me:)

And our family:)

I was so excited for the first day that was warm enough to wear our sunglasses and sandals:)

"For lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone;.......

.......the flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land."  SOS 2:11-12

And since it was the Wooden Shoe Tulip festival, of course Evan and I had to poke our heads into the Dutch boy and girl cutouts:)

And before we left I just had to take a picture of this pink John Deere:)

We had the privilege of attending the Oregon Rght to Life conference a few weeks ago.
I was so proud of Evan's accomplishments for the second time this year, as his drawing (pictured above) won the state art competition, and was displayed throughout the conference.

It was also wonderful to hear our friend Noah Cook's speech in the oratory competition. We were so excited for him when he won second place.

Just last week, Evan and I had the amazing privilege of singing with the Vancouver Grace Chorus for their Easter concert at a retirement home. We had enjoyed practicing together for the past few months, and were very excited to perform together, and see how God used our performance to bless the listeners. Evan was also able to make a debut performance of one of his recent hymn arrangements for the final piece of our concert, and he did a wonderful job.

Overall, we've had a wonderful spirng so far, we've had some wonderful times as a family, and with friends, and I've enjoyed learning more about God as we've continued studying Romans as a family! I'd love to hear a comment from you on how God has been encouraging you recently!

I'll close this post with one of my favorite passages of Scripture. Have a wonderful week!

"This I recall to mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: Great is thy Faithfulness." Lamentations 3:21-23

Oh, and don't forget to enter the giveaway if you haven't already. It's almost done:)

Eden's Evaluations: All The Wright Stuff ~ Review and Giveaway

I know how much we all love giveaways, so I wanted to share this giveaway from my dear friend Eden's blog! I also have a picture of my favorite tulips which I planted this spring to share with you all!

"For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven,
and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud,
that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return
unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper
in the thing whereto I sent it." Isaiah 55:10-11

Eden's Evaluations: All The Wright Stuff ~ Review and Giveaway: Hello Everyone! :)  Today, I have the pleasure of introducing you all to..... Shop   ~ Blog About (from shop wesbite) : "...

Jesus King of Angels!

"For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that He shall stand at the later day upon the earth. And though after my skin, worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God; whom I shall see for myself, and not another, though my reins be consumed within me." Job 19:25-27

Happy Easter to you all! I just love this time of year.....The beauty of the creation around us, the new life in every plant and flower, trees blossoming forth and sun shining it's bright rays throughout the earth once again. How could I help but also see the wonder of God's great gift to us in sending His Son Jesus to redeem our souls, and give us all the gift of new life. Not only for this time of year, but throughout the whole year, we have the blessed promise of New Life because of Christ's death!

I was inspired recently by the words to these songs, and I thought it was the perfect time of year to share them with you all.

Have a blessed Easter with your family, and friends, and be sure to thank God for His gift of New Life this spring and always!

Jesus King of Angels!

Jesus, King of Angels, Heaven's light
Shine Your face upon this house tonight
Let no evil come into my dreams
Light of Heaven keep me in Your peace

Remind me how You made dark spirits flee
And spoke Your power to the raging sea
And spoke Your mercy to a sinful man
Remind me Jesus, this is what I am

The universe is vast beyond the stars
But You are mindful when the sparrow falls
And mindful of the anxious thoughts
That find me, surround me and bind me

With all my heart I love You, Sovereign Lord
Tomorrow let me love You even more
And rise to speak the goodness of Your name
Until I close my eyes and sleep again

The universe is vast beyond the stars
But You are mindful when the sparrow falls
And mindful of the anxious thoughts
That find me, surround me and bind me

Jesus, King of Angels, Heaven's light
Hold my hand and keep me through this night

Always the Same

I am His, He is mine; Jesus knows my name.
I can rest in His arms; He’s always the same.
When I fall, when I call, Jesus takes my hand.
Cleansing me, lifting me, He helps me to stand.

In His love, I’m secure; we shall never part.
In His Word I will trust and give Him all my heart.
In the dark of the night, when my heart would fear,
Lovingly, tenderly, my Saviour is near.

Always the same, O praise His name,
Jesus never changes; He’s always the same.
Always together, His love is forever.
Jesus never changes; He’s always the same.

"But, He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His stripes we are healed." Isaiah 53:5

Exciting News!

Happy Spring to you all,

As I promised I have some news to share with you all that will hopefully be as exciting for you to read as it is for me to share.

For the past few years I've been exploring the possibility of being an affiliate for a company. After trying out several options, I found out that the Home Educating Family Association had an opportunity for new affiliates. I've been familiar with HEUDA for a few years since I've enjoyed using their "On the Go" planners for my daily routine. After looking into their affiliate program, I decided to join, and have slowly worked into the advertising process. (You may have noticed the ads on the side of my blog recently) From the moment I found out about HEUDA's affiliate program I was very excited, because I knew that they were a company I could be proud to support, as I just love their products.

After I read "Get More Done in Less Time" by Donna Otto, I had been on the lookout for a journal since she suggested a journal as a great way to keep your schedule, and life organized. While we were at a homeschool conference a few years ago, I was excited to stop by the Home Educating Family Association booth, and was even more excited to find their "On the Go" planner which was exactly what I had been looking for. From the pastel colored pages, daily scheduling section, easy to find tabs, and reminders section, to the encouraging Scriptures, and inspirational quotes on each page,I knew this was just the planner to meet my needs. It has turned out to be a wonderful hassle freeway to keep everything from my thoughts, to daily plans, to gifts ideas for friends, well organized, and in an easy to find place.

If you are struggling to find organization in your daily routines, or simply need a place to jot down your to do lists, I would highly recommend the "On the Go" planner from HEUDA. Perhaps you're in high school, or just starting college...HEUDA has just the planner for you. There are a lot of great resources from HEUDA to meet all your scheduling and planning needs, including some great resources for busy moms. I encourage you to check out their website for more information.

Today I am very excited to announce my first ever giveaway for Elanee's Endeavors. Starting today until April 30th you and your friends have a chance to win a free "On the Go 2014-2015" planner from the Home Educating Family Association. Here's a passage of Scripture that has recently been inspiring to me and has encouraged me to keep my focus on God. I hope it inspires you today! What a great God we serve!

"But now thus saith The Lord that created thee O Jacob, and He that formed thee O Israel. Fear not, for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name thou are mine. When thou passest through the waters I will be with thee, and through the rivers they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire thou shalt not be burned, neither shall the flame kindle upon thee......Since thou wast precious in my sight thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee. Therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life. Fear not for I am with thee, I will bring thy seed from the east and gather thee from the west; I will say to the north, Give up: and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth; Every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him." Isaiah 43:1-2,4-7

Evening on the Ranch

I thought you might like to see these new sets I
made for some Ployvore contests today.
I'm not at all into cowboy stuff, but you had to
include cowboy boots for the contest.
Anyhow, let me know what you think about this set,
and stay tuned for a new group I'm creating on Polyvore.
I also have some exciting news and posts coming soon,
so check back in a few days to see what that's all about!

But, in the meantime, here's a verse that's been
inspirational to me this past
week as my brother, and I practiced, and played
music for a benefit concert.

Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth:
make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.
Sing unto the LORD with the harp;
with the harp, and the voice of a psalm." Psalm96:4-5
