Visiting Friends!

After our time at the Bible Bee, we dove to Central Tenesee to visit our dear friends the Wilson family, who used to live a couple blocks from us in Oregon for several years.

We spent the night at their house, and enjoyed catching up on the past year, & seeing how God has been working in their lives and providing for their family. Then we traveled to the airport with most of their family, and stopped for lunch at Bob Evan's on the way.

Evan & Robert & Ian enjoyed the hot Cholcolate with free refills, (thus their absence from the table) and we all enjoyed seeing snow falling as we headed to the airport after lunch.

We thought we had to rush to the airport, but we arrived with time to spare so we were able to have fun capturing these group photos before we left.

And gentlemen....

Boys ....

& Girls...

Humor is....

So much....

Unless you're the one being pinched:)

As you can see, we had a wonderful time with the Wilson's, and we were very grateful to see them again. And while we're still waiting for them to move closer, as they are vice versa, we all enjoy our yearly visits and look forward to the next time we see each other again.

Once again, God blessed us with safe travels home, and we all are so grateful for
His mercy in our numerous travels this past year! As we take off on each flight this
verse from the 2012 Bible Bee comes to my mind, and I'm always amazed at God's faithfulness to answer this prayer, and protect us in our journeys. He is good, His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations! Praise be to The Lord!!!!!!!!

"Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight,
shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight:
and consider that this nation is thy people.
And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence."
Ex 33:13-15

  1. Hi, Elanee,
I've really enjoyed reading your blog the past couple of months. I saw you at the National Bible Bee (my sisters and I were contestants) but I never got a chance to meet you. I think we might have passed you on the interstate on the way home (FYI, we were driving a big green van with "honk if you're going to the bible bee" written on the side).
Maybe we can meet in Orlando next year, Lord willing!

    1. Joy,

It's so good to hear from you! I'm glad you were blessed by my blog. We did see your car on our way back home, and it's funny that you mentioned it because we all thought I wonder who that is, cause we didn't recognize you all. Anyhow. I'm so sorry we weren't able to meet at Nationals, I hope we can meet up in Orlando this year! Please do keep in touch, do you all have a blog?

      In Christ

  2. They look like a dear family! I am sorry I never got to meet them when they lived in Oregon!

    1. They are a very sweet family. You'll have to meet them sometime when they come to Oregon:)
